We know how busy parents’ schedules can get. That’s why we’re proud to offer free daily busing to and from DCS for all of our K-8 families!

Be sure to lock in your student’s seat for transportation for the 24′-25′ school year. All new and returning students MUST fill out transportation forms to secure their spots as they are limited and rosters are being finalized. Bus spots DO NOT roll over from the previous year. You can find the forms on our Transportation page.

Athletics

Our robust athletics program is one of the best in the city of Detroit! From basketball, to football, to cheer, to dance, DCS is the school for students interested in playing sports.

In 2018-19, our football team went 8-2 and made it to the state playoffs. We also had one of our seniors make it to the Michigan high school all-star football game.

Our basketball team made it to the district playoffs, the team made it to the regional playoffs, and our cross-country team made it to state finals. And, our Cheer and Dance team is recognized as one of the best in our division.

Also, our gym is a sought-after facility in Brightmoor. Complete with a brand-new floor, sound system, and regulation-size court, local organizations love to use our gym for practice and games.

Sphinx Music Violin

We are incredibly lucky at DCS to receive music education lessons from the incredible Sphinx Organization! We are one of only four school in the State of Michigan to be eligible for the Sphinx Overture program.

Teachers from Sphinx come to DCS throughout the year to teach our young students how to play the violin.
